MEREDITH, NH – November 13, 2023 – On Wednesday, November 1st, Congressman Chris Pappas took to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to officially acknowledge and congratulate Hermit Woods Winery & Eatery for their nomination to the prestigious 2023 America’s Top Small Business Award.

Earlier this year, in September, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce selected the top 70 small businesses from across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, amidst a remarkable pool of over 15,000 applicants. These nominees were evaluated based on criteria such as business growth, resilience in overcoming challenges, effective strategies for success, and community engagement. Among the chosen 70, Hermit Woods stood out.

Bob Manley, Co-Founder of Hermit Woods, expressed his gratitude, saying, “My partners Ken, Chuck, and I are profoundly honored to be recognized as one of America’s Top Small Businesses. The twelve years of hard work dedicated to building Hermit Woods Winery & Eatery reflect our commitment to excellence. We’ve aimed to be exemplary community members, contribute whenever possible, and set a standard of excellence in all our endeavors.” Bob further added, “The acknowledgment of our achievement on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by Representative Chris Pappas and entered into the Congressional Record truly left us in awe.”

While Hermit Woods did not secure the title of America’s best small business, that distinction went to Elderly Instruments of Lansing, Michigan. Bob Manley gracefully extended his congratulations to the deserving winners. He reiterated his pride in reaching the significant milestone Hermit Woods achieved in the competition.
