Ken has been crafting Red Scare for ten years now with his first vintage from 2008 crafted from blackberries, blueberries, black raspberries and honey from Ken’s backyard. The earliest vintage still remaining is the 2011. The name of the wine comes from the Ultimate Frisbee team Ken’s son Max played on his freshman year in college in 2008. Max was the inspiration for setting up the bee hives in Ken’s backyard. The blend concept came from a great book on mead by Ken Schramm called The Compleat Mead Maker.
